Great Employees, Great Customer Service
In today’s very competitive dining market, small family restaurants must provide great customer service or the customer will simply go somewhere else where they are more appreciated. We all work hard for our money and when we go out to eat we want not only great food, but, we want to have a nice experience and be treated well.
Happy Employees Will Mean Happy Customers
How well a restaurant does in the customer service arena depends on a number of factors. First and foremost is that the employee’s are happy. Management must select employees that are well suited for their positions and take the time to train them so they are comfortable with their responsibilities. Customers can sense if the employee’s are happy.
Excessive turnover kills Customer Service
Family-owned restaurants, unlike some of the bigger chain restaurants don’t have the financial resources to be hiring and training employees on a constant basis so the focus is to create a team/family within the restaurant where everyone works together to give the customer the best experience possible.
